The actual date that the Maryville Country Club was organized and founded is not certain. However, a newspaper article dated June 23, 1922 had the following information --- "The membership drive for 100 additional members for the Maryville Country Club closed last evening by going over the top."
"The purpose of securing the 100 additional members of the country club was to buy either the present grounds or some other place for the country club. Arrangements will be made soon for the purchase of a site."
